About us.

Hedyn, the seed.

Formed from the merger between Melin and Newport City Homes on 1 April 2025. Hedyn exists to use our shared expertise to create something greater. Our vision is to help build connected communities where everyone can live well.

Our mission is to make sure everything we do has a positive impact on the lives of others. We want our residents to thrive, guaranteeing a safer and brighter future for us, and those who come after us.

The seed is the start. It represents our ambition to do the right thing, make it happen, and be the difference in the communities we serve.

As social housing landlords, we support residents and communities living in over 15,000 properties across south-east Wales, in:

• Blaenau Gwent
• Monmouthshire
• Newport
• Powys
• Torfaen

Our Executive Team

The executive team play a pivotal role in leading and shaping Hedyn.

Our Chief Executive is Paula Kennedy.

Our executive directors are:

• Gareth Yeoman-Evans – Group Executive Director of Resources
• Joanne Kirrane – Group Executive Director of Operations
• Peter Crockett – Group Executive Director for Growth and Managing Director of Candleston Homes (our subsidiary)
