When you move into your new home, you’ll sign a contract with Hedyn. This is called an ‘occupation contract’. And you’re the ‘contract holder’.
We understand how moving into a new home can be both exciting and stressful, but we’re here to help you with whatever you need.
Who can help you
All contract holders will have a dedicated Neighbourhood Manager and an Income Recovery Specialist that will help you from day one.
Neighbourhood managers can help you with:
- changes to your contract such as adding household members
- antisocial behaviour
- swapping you home (right to transfer)
- breaches of the occupation contract
Income recovery specialists can help you with:
- questions about your rent and service charge
- accessing financial support
- signposting to support services
For all other queries, such as booking a repair or setting up a direct debit, please contact us through our main channels.
If you don’t know who your neighbourhood manager or income recovery specialist is, please contact us.
Adding or removing household members
If you’d like to add someone to your contract, for example, a partner or family member, you’ll need to contact your Neighbourhood Manager.
We’ll need to know:
- their full name
- date of birth
- date they moved in or left the property
If you don’t know who your Neighbourhood Manager is, please contact us.
Home contents insurance
Hedyn isn’t responsible for insuring the contents of your home or your personal possessions. We’re keen to ensure that all our residents have home contents insurance either through our special scheme with Thistle Tenant Risks or by you making your own arrangements.
To find out more about the Thistle contents insurance scheme, contact us.
Ending your contract
If you’d like to end your occupation contract with Hedyn, you’ll need to contact us to give us your ‘Notice to quit’. You must give us at least four weeks’ notice.
The best way to do this is online either via our ‘Contact us’ page or by emailing hello@hedyn.wales. Our Customer Experience Hub will reply with the next steps.
If you are a joint contract holder and are unsure what you need to do, please contact your Neighbourhood Manager. If you don’t know who your Neighbourhood Manager is, please contact us.
You can also contact us by one of our other channels if you prefer.
Your legal rights as a resident
Your contract with Hedyn is made in line with the latest housing regulations.
You can read guidance about the Renting Homes (Wales) Act, including your rights, on the Welsh Government website.
