Rent privately with Hedyn

We have a range of homes available outside of our social rent offer. These homes are available through different renting options, depending on what you’re looking for.

Private rent

We have a variety of homes available to rent on the open market, and anyone can apply.

When homes become available to rent privately, we advertise them on websites like OpenRent and Rightmove.

Intermediate rent

This is for people looking for something in-between social rent and private rent. You’ll need to be registered on your local Council’s housing register, and either live or work in the area you’re applying.

These homes are advertised through your local Council’s website and sometimes on Open Rent or Rightmove, at a reduced rate, and you can usually get around 20% off.

Rent to Own

Rent to Own gives you the chance to work towards buying your home, while you rent it.

These homes are available to rent at the market rate (they’re not available on social rent). After renting for two years, you’ll have the option to buy your home, if you want to.

If you choose to buy:

• 25% of the rent you’ve already paid will be returned to you, to use for your deposit
• you’ll also get a share of any increase in the property’s value since you moved in

To apply, you need to be registered on your local Council’s housing register, either live or work in the area, and not own a home already. Available homes are advertised through your local Council’s website or on the open market.
