Our approach
The Welsh language is important to us, and we’ll aim to provide a proactive language offer and increase the opportunities for people to engage with us in Welsh.
We’ll achieve this through:
- Increasing the visibility and opportunities to use the language when we engage with and deliver services for our customers and colleagues.
- Being clear and open about which services we can provide in Welsh.
- Considering the Welsh language in the way we plan our services and the need for Welsh language skills when we recruit new members of staff.
- Encouraging and supporting our colleagues to develop their Welsh language skills.
- Listening to residents and colleagues to find ways to improve our offer and measure our progress.
- Considering the diverse communities and other languages spoken within the areas which we work to ensure that our focus on the Welsh language doesn’t discriminate.
